About Me

Well Hello! My name is Robert Ade. I am not just your average Joe. Let me introduce myself. I am from Lincoln, Rhode Island. This might surprise you (hint of sarcasm*laugh*) but I am retired and a chess lover. I started playing chess when I was in high school. I saw a flyer stuck to my locker door one day and decided to attend one of their meetings to find out what it was all about. Before you know it, I fell in love with the game of chess. I did not know anything about chess such as rules or how the game was played. The president of the chess club showed me the ropes and within weeks, I learned the ins and outs of the game. Even though the rules was simple, I was fascinated by the different strategies the game of chess can be played. I have been teaching chess for over 4 years now. I love teaching kids and anyone who wants to learn how to play chess. A perfect day for me would be to get a cup of coffee at Starbucks and hang out with the chess players all day. You would normally find me there. One day, I might even start playing chess on a competitive level. If you have not try to play chess, give it a shot. You might be surprised to find out that you might like it. I didn’t even know until I gave chess a chance.
